Living a green life emphasises environmental impact, conserving natural resources, and promoting practices that lead to a healthier planet. This approach aligns with MINMINI's mission to contribute positively to environmental well-being through eco-friendly innovations, renewable energy sources, and sustainable practices.
Our principles
MINMINI's principles prioritize sustainability, innovation, accountability, collaboration, and transparency. These values guide the company in fostering eco-friendly advancements and working inclusively with communities to create a greener future.
Minmini - the environment company- is all set to fight against climate change by actually creating an impact by taking climate action at the local level and scaling it up globally. The uniqueness of the organization is using technology to combat climate change in various ways possible like conserving nature, doing clean-up drives of polluted water bodies, etc. Another speciality is we are set to strengthen the rural economy since we are based out in Namakkal, a small rural town in Tamil Nadu. Our primary focus is on invasive species eradication and converting them into valuable products by generating a circular economy by building sustainable business models, so that we can restore the groundwater level depleted by invasive species like Prosopis. The potential impact would be creating local climate resilience and improving local livelihood by generating employment for the people in the area.
Building a Sustainable Future
The goal of Project Eradicate Prosopis Juliflora is to eliminate the invasive Prosopis Juliflora trees in India using disruptive technologies like AI and drones to assess their location, population density, and growth patterns. The project aims to support local villagers and farmers affected by water scarcity caused by these trees by potentially replacing them with Palmyra trees, which can help replenish groundwater levels.
MINMINI's projects focus on impactful climate action through nature conservation, invasive species eradication, and polluted water body clean-ups. Using technology, we aim to restore ecosystems while strengthening the rural economy. Our work promotes sustainable business models that improve livelihoods and build local climate resilience.
MINMINI is dedicated to combating climate change through local actions that can scale globally. Based in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, the organization uses technology for nature conservation, clean-up drives, and eradicating invasive species like Prosopis to restore groundwater levels. By promoting rural economic development, MINMINI fosters sustainable business models that create employment, improve livelihoods, and build local climate resilience.
- Harshini S R Founder & CEO
MINMINI was not born in one day. Our founder Harshini’s childhood has a
huge influence on the great initiative which she took in starting this
youth-led organization at the age of 23. She was born and brought up in a
place surrounded full of lush green mountains and agricultural lands. So,
she always wanted to serve mother nature, on whose lap she loved playing
as a child. And growing up as a technologist, she asked a question: can
technology be used for societal and environmental good at large?
We are working for the betterment of the world; we request you to start doing the same!
We can keep our neighborhood clean by reducing plastic use, opting for reusable bags, bottles, and containers instead of single-use plastics. Regularly organizing community clean-up drives helps remove litter and prevents waste buildup in public spaces. Following the principles of reuse, reduce, recycle, and recover ensures that resources are used efficiently, minimizing waste and promoting a sustainable lifestyle. By working together, we can create a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone.
How would you like to be responsible too?
Take a step towards saving the environment by planting a tree. Don't know how? Just follow these simple steps.
1
Choose a suitable location with adequate sunlight and space for the tree to grow
2
Dig a hole twice as wide and as deep as the tree's root ball.
3
Place the tree in the hole, ensuring the root flare is level with the soil surface.
4
Backfill the hole with soil, water thoroughly, and add mulch around the base.
Just one more thing: Do not forget to care for the plant. To care for the newly planted tree, water it regularly, especially during dry periods, to help establish its roots. Keep the area around the base free from weeds, and apply mulch to retain moisture and protect the soil.
